However, over time, this gasket often becomes a breeding ground for dirt, bacteria, and black mold. The good news is that cleaning the gasket is simple and takes just a few minutes with the right method.

Step-by-Step Cleaning Guide

  1. Prepare a Cleaning Solution
    Mix equal parts of warm water and white vinegar (or lemon juice). For tough mold, add a few drops of dish soap or baking soda. Vinegar is a natural disinfectant that kills mold and bacteria effectively.

  2. Apply the Solution
    Dip a soft cloth, sponge, or an old toothbrush into the mixture and gently scrub along the folds and corners of the rubber gasket. Make sure to pull the gasket slightly to reach hidden dirt and mold.

  3. Wipe and Rinse
